**In Loving Memory of Sorai Zecharia King "Ray"**

Sorai Zecharia King, affectionately known as "Ray Ray," graced the world with his vibrant spirit on July 28, 2004, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. Raised in the culturally rich neighborhoods of Harlem and Washington Heights, he was the cherished youngest child of Sonja King and Ray Brown. With each day of his life shining bright, Sorai navigated his childhood filled with laughter, hopes, and dreams.

With immense pride, he completed his education, starting at PS 28 Elementary School, continuing his journey at Mickey Mantle Middle School, and completing his studies at Independence High School, where he was eagerly looking forward to graduating in June 2025. His passion for basketball was not just a pastime; it was a calling. Sorai captivated the court at various basketball teams in Washington Heights, earning an impressive collection of championship medals and trophies. Known affectionately as the "shortest, best basketball player" at the PS 28 Wright Brothers playground, his love for the game was matched only by the joy he brought to those around him.

A beacon of positivity, Sorai’s vibrant personality was contagious. He had a magical ability to lift others' spirits, even on the hardest days. Behind that warm, infectious smile lay a heart brimming with love—not just for his family but for each friend he made along the way. He cherished moments at home spent indulging in good food, playing music, and enjoying NBA 2K, often whipping up pancakes for his family each morning, infused with the love and care only he could provide.

His devotion was evident in every aspect of his life. Ever the devoted fan, Sorai passionately supported the New York Knicks, through thick and thin, embodying the spirit of determination that became his hallmark. He pursued his ambitions with courage, acquiring a security certificate at The Bronx Connect and gaining his OSHA License through the Outreach Training Program, all while generously giving his time to volunteer in his school community. Sorai's dedication to his family was unwavering; he aspired to make his mother proud, striving to be the best version of himself.

On April 17, 2025, Sorai transitioned peacefully from this world at Jacobi Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is mourned by his mother, Sonja King, his father, Ray Brown, three siblings—Tanunique King, Devonte King, and Deon King—and a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loyal friends who are forever touched by his joyful spirit.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Congregational Church of God and Bullock Funeral Services for their loving support during this time. Sorai Zecharia King will always be remembered for the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the dreams he chased with fervor. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
